Mid-South Minor Leagues
Memphis
Maniax
The Memphis Maniax was a member of the XFL, the brainchild of Pro-Wrestling guru Vince McMahon (WWF).  This league played a February - April schedule, and was supposed to be the "Real Football" alternative to the overpaid NFL.  The players were payed a meager wage per game, which doubled if they won.  Although a multi-million dollor deal was signed with NBC to broadcast the leagues games, rating were low and the league failed after the first season, sticking both the WWF & NBC with  massive financial losses.
