Canadian Football League (U.S. Expansion)
1995
In 1993, the Canadian Football League decided to ply it's trade in the States as an outdoor alternative to the NFL.
After being snubbed by the NFL once again in 1994, Memphis tried on Canadian football, a similar yet distinct game which goes back practically as far as American football.  The Maddogs fielded such notables as Damon Allen and Joe Horn.  After 3 seasons of financial disappointment, the CFL pulled the plug on the "American Experiment" for good at the end of the 1995 season.
